Iowa Hawks

As I drive along the rural highways in my current home state of Iowa, I often see one or more hawks riding air currents in circles above the fields. They seem to be floating as they leisurely tip their wings to change course. I think that they are looking for the movement of small animals on the ground far below them, but I like to pretend they're taking a break from their hunting to enjoy a few communal circles up in the sky.
